aGROWForests Project

aGROWForests is a climate-smart agriculture project that aims to promote sustainable farming management practices in the forestry and agriculture sectors to increase resilience to climate change, improve soil health and increase agricultural productivity. The project focuses on implementing agroforestry systems that integrate trees with crops and livestock, contributing to carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation and improving the livelihoods of rural communities. 

Post Harvest Operator

The post harvest operator will be directly responsible for activities that include technical and non-technical activities on and off the land, including:

  1. Lead and monitor the implementation of post-harvest pepper activities, namely threshing, soaking, washing, drying, and packaging.
  2. Lead and monitor the implementation of non-pepper post-harvest activities, namely harvesting, processing, preserving, and marketing.
  3. Create documents recording monthly post-harvest operational expenses and income such as casual daily labor (THL), input, fuel, materials, equipment, harvest results, and so on.
  4. Collecting post-harvest operational support data such as harvest data, dry pepper quality tests, and activity documentation.
  5. Create monthly activity report documents.
  6. Willing to visit farmers' gardens or governments if needed.


Suitable candidates for post harvest operators must have the following qualifications and experience:

  1. Have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in post-harvest technology, food technology, or related majors.
  2. Male/Female with a maximum age of 30 years.
  3. Residing on Bangka Island.
  4. Has a motorcycle and a C driving license.
  5. Willing to be placed in Namang, Central Bangka.
  6. Have an understanding of pepper cultivation and/or experience in pepper post-harvest.
  7. Have an understanding and/or experience in the field of agroforestry post-harvest.
  8. Mastering Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  9. Having English language skills (speaking, writing, listening) is more desirable.


The expected output from a post harvest operator includes:

  1. Monitoring and evaluation reports on activities in the post harvest every month.
  2. The financial report includes expenses and income every month.


The post harvest operator will report directly to the demo plot manager and communicate with other project teams such as the training team, community development team, and land management team.
